  • To maintain our own financial accounts and records (including the processing of gift aid applications);
  • To provide news and information about events, activities and services promoted by the church;
  • To enable us to provide a voluntary service for the benefit of our local community; which includes the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ; distributing aid to the homeless; hospital visitation;
  • To fundraise and promote the interests of the church charity; (Community Christian Centre of Church of God Seventh Day);
  • To manage our employees and volunteers.

 

  1. What is the legal basis for processing your personal data?

The Community Christian Centre of the Church of God (Seventh Day) is a non-profit charitable organisation that is dedicated to communicating the message of the Gospel in the UK and throughout the world. This gives us scope on a number of initiatives to enhance and develop Christian services within our communities. The end result being the local church becomes a vital part of the communities that it serves. This would include implementing new church programmes and services, family-orientated ministries such as parenting seminars, children and youth events, singles and marriage counselling etc. Promoting our local and international aid initiatives to highlight the diverse needs of people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds. We collect information about people which will allow us to communicate with them, introduce them to our organisation, promote the Gospel to them, pray and provide other Christian services to them and inform them of the work we do.

We do not use the information in any way other than in the fulfillment of our mission and objectives.

 

We might also use your information for the following purposes:

  • for the immediate reason for which you have provided it to us (for example, to enable us to process your request, payment, donation, registration at events, etc);
  • to maintain contact with you about our work, to report to you about our work, or to encourage you to learn about what we do; and any other purpose directly related to our work and for which you have provided consent (where it is required by law).

 

  1. Sharing your personal data
    Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential and will only be shared with other members of the church in order to carry out a service to you or for purposes connected with the church. We will only share your data with third parties with your consent.

 

  1. How long do we keep your personal data?
  • We retain membership information while it is required to provide a service to you;
  • Gift aid declarations and associated paperwork for up to 6 years after the calendar year to which they relate;
  • Church registers (baptisms, marriages, funerals) permanently;
  • Visitor contact details – If no contact has been made to a visitor within a 24-month period, visitor details will be destroyed securely.

 

We will destroy personal information once there is no longer a legal, charitable or business need for us to retain it.

  1. Your rights and your personal data

Unless subject to an exemption under the GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data: –

  • The right to request a copy of your personal data which the Community Christian Centre of the Church of God (Seventh Day) holds about you;
  • The right to request that the Community Christian Centre of the Church of God (Seventh Day) corrects any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date;
  • The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for the Community Christian Centre of the Church of God (Seventh Day) to retain such data;
  • The right to withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data at any time;
  • The right, where there is a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing;
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office.

If we wish to use your personal data for a new purpose, not covered by this Policy, then we will provide you with a new notice explaining this new use prior to commencing the processing and setting out the relevant purposes and processing conditions. Where and whenever necessary, we will seek your prior consent to the new processing.
